Tin Teel (a.k.a Teen Taal)
Tin Taal is a 16 beat composition used very frequently. The noticeable “Dha Dhin Dhin Dha” follows the Tin Taal rhythmic cycle.

First Steps with Tabla
I just wanted to share a few practice exercises that I’ve been learning. Hopefully this will be useful to someone else somewhere wishing to learn Tabla on their own. I suggest trying exercises for each day over a few days until you can do them without looking at the notes or at the Tabla while playing. Good luck!

Time for a rant
NYU-Poly students that were in my program are such superficial engineers. They all seem to get high grade point averages, but that doesn’t really tell the story. If you look at their course schedules, you will find at most 1 hard course. These kids try to skip the toughies at all costs to keep their GPA’s high, but the best courses are the hard ones. Ask them a straightforward question...

NYC Blizzard
Okay, so everyone knows that the response to the recent blizzard in NYC has been kind of slow. I have seen many videos that people have recorded of the sanitation department creating a bigger mess than they started off with. The biggest example of this is Reckless NYC Tow Truck After Blizzard. The guys working these trucks clearly are out of their minds. They have no care for why they are stuck....
